At Strange History, we love looking into outside the box topics you may not learn about in a typical school day. Wanna think like a revolutionary war spy? You’ll do it here. Maybe talk about the ancient Egyptians favorite foods (baked hedgehog, anyone?), this is the place for you! This semester, we’ll be covering a wide range of topics, including: The Legend of Alfred Packer Tesla vs. Edison: the Battle of the Currents History’s Mysteries: the Mysterious Disappearance of Louis Le Prince Creepy Stuff: Hair Jewelry and Safety Coffins The Mystery of the Mary Celeste Washington’s Spies: The Culper Spy Ring Death Masks feature John Dillinger Life in Ancient Egypt History of Toys, Part 1, featuring Barbie, Hotwheels, and Pokémon The (re)Discovery of the Titanic Growing up in the 80s/90s: Understand Mom and Dad Disasters: The Hartford Circus Fire and the Cleveland Balloon Disaster The Mysterious Winchester Mansion At the end of the semester, I have a fun idea planned for the group for our end of year wrap up party!
